Swami Hari Govind Ji established Braj Ras Lila Sansthan in 1973 at Govind Vihar Ashram, Raman Reti, Vrindavan to serve the theatre in a better way. Various cultural and charitable activities are the attractions of Govind Vihar through out the year. The longest folk festival of Vary Bhoomi known as “RASOTSAVA” is organized every year in the Hindu calander months of Shrawan and Bhadrapad for 45 days. This festival is also known as Jhoola Mahotsava. Lacs of devotees take an opportunity to come to Vrindavan to be a part of audiences in the folk festival directed by Shri Swami Harigovind ji Maharaj. Besides the cultural activities the daily Daridra Narayan Seva (food to the poors), Gau Mata Seva (Cow help), donation to the marriages of poor girls, daily food to the Sanskrit students and medical help to the needy people are the main concerns of Braj Ras Lila Sansthan, Vrindavan.
Considering the services rendered by Swami Harigovind ji to the folk theatre and the society,many organizations and institutions from all over the country have honored him.The Govt. of India and the State Govts have awarded Swami ji with the following:- 1.Sangeet Natak Akademi Award 1972 Govt. of India 2.Sangeet Natak Akademi Award 1979 Govt. of U.P. 3.Rashtriya Tulasi Samman 1998 Govt. of M.P. 4.Padamshree 2006 Govt. of India
